One year ago we launched the XM Professional (XMP) Certification, a credential that establishes the XM profession by defining a clear domain of XM expertise and recognizes the people mastering the discipline. To celebrate, we’re spotlighting some of the XMPs from around the world who have earned their certification in the past year.

XMP Spotlight

Alejandra Arriaga Infante is based in the United States and is AVP of Customer Experience at Amerant Bank.

  • Why was obtaining your XMP certification important to you as an XM professional? Obtaining the XMP certification was important to me to further develop my career in the XM field. As I was studying the content, I was able to tie all the different pieces of information I have learned before about XM, and understand how they all relate and flow together. It also helped me to better understand the different core experiences (PX, BX, EX, CX) and that these cannot be managed in silos.
  • How will the XMP credential help you in your career? It has allowed me to be recognized as a certified professional within my organization.

Glenn Ong is based in the Philippines and is the Director for Customer Experience at Cebu Pacific Air.

  • Why was obtaining your XMP certification important to you as an XM professional? Getting the XMP certification contributes greatly to my competency and affirms my commitment to the profession. It allowed me to gain new knowledge on how to become a better change agent in the areas of customer, employee, brand, and product experience.
  • How will the XMP credential help you in your career? Apart from the recognition it gives, being an XMP better equips me as I influence others within and outside of my organization, to make the lives of people better every day. The career benefit and advancement it comes with are just icings on the top.

Sebastien Munar is based in Peru and is the Managing Director at Clientrika, a boutique CX consulting firm.

  • Why was obtaining your XMP certification important to you as an XM professional? Obtaining the certification was a great step to be officially recognized for my experience and expertise in the Experience Management (XM) discipline. Also, being the first Latin American to obtain this certification (XMP) encourages me to continue promoting the dissemination and evolution of this discipline in my region. Finally, the requirements for the exam and the level of the exam itself ensure the professionalism of XM managers as key people in organizations.
  • How will the XMP credential help you in your career? I have been involved as a practitioner, as a consultant, and as an academic for several years now, so I am always interested in keeping myself constantly trained, and with high standards of instruction. The XMP credential was certainly super challenging, as an Experience Management professional, but it was a logical milestone in my journey to put into practice all my executive experience of the last few years.
  • What excites you about the XM profession? One of the things I’ve always loved about Customer Experience is how cross-functional it is throughout the company; but when you talk about XM, this cross-functionality reaches exponential levels.

Giving me a breadth of knowledge on other experience management categories will be key for my career growth. It has also helped me set some foundational skills and understand key concepts key to XM.
